No, we work with future homeowners to identify affordable housing options and provide financial literacy training as necessary.

Our homeownership program empowers working individuals and families to build and buy their own homes. Visit our homeownership page to see where we build and learn about the process.
Families must:
show that they are willing to partner with Habitat La Plata County;
demonstrate a need for housing; and
be able to make a monthly mortgage payment based on 30% of their gross (pre-tax) monthly income.

The ReStore is a nonprofit home improvement store and donation center that sell new and gently used home improvement materials at a fraction of the retail price. All of the profits from the ReStore go towards supporting Habitat La Plata County’s mission of building decent, affordable housing in partnership with local hard-working, low- and moderate-income families.
